Samuel Little, America’s most prolific serial killer, with nearly 60 confirmed victims, dies at 80
In 2018, he opened up to a Texas Ranger about scores of murders from 1970 to 2005. Most were in Florida and California, but several occurred in Texas.

LOS ANGELES Samuel Little, who authorities say was the most prolific serial killer in U.S. history, with nearly 60 confirmed victims, including several in Texas, died Wednesday in California. He was 80.
Little, who had diabetes, heart trouble and other ailments, died at a California hospital, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. He was serving a life sentence for multiple murders.

Authorities have identified one of the victims who died Monday in a small-plane crash in Grand Prairie.
Larry Ronald Vieregge of Grapevine, 71, was killed when the plane crashed about 3 p.m. near a Sonic Drive-In parking lot along the service road of State Highway 360 near East Mayfield Road, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

The two planets will appear near each other in the Monday night sky

On the night of the winter solstice, Dec. 21, two planets will appear to close together in the sky, shining together as almost one body.
The event has been called a “Christmas Star,” referencing the Star of Bethlehem from the biblical story, according to the Christian tradition, in which the three wise men were led by the star’s light to the newborn baby Jesus.
Denton nursing home under investigation after nine COVID-19 deaths

A Denton senior care facility is under state investigation after nine COVID-19 deaths were reported by Denton County health officials, a spokeswoman for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission said Friday.
Three deaths at Senior Care at Denton Post Acute Care, also known as Brinker Denton Senior Care Center or Senior Care Health and Rehabilitation Center, were reported Wednesday by Denton County health officials. Six more deaths were reported Thursday. The county did not report any additional deaths Friday.

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal October shooting in Far East Dallas.
Authorities said Friday that they had obtained a murder warrant for Jonathan Deon Middleton, 22, in connection with the slaying of 21-year-old Cozie Mathis. He was booked into the Dallas County jail late Sunday, jail records show.
Officers were called about 3 a.m. Oct. 30 to the 2400 block of Wildoak Drive, near Ferguson and Highland roads, where they found Mathis wounded. He died at a hospital the next day.
