Letters: Christmas generosity, selfish lawmakers
Letters to the editor
thanks to generosity of local residents
Despite a global pandemic, residents of Central Ohio shared the true meaning of Christmas with children in need this past holiday season.
Generosity throughout the Columbus area during this pandemic resulted in 37,766 shoebox gifts collected at curbside drop-off locations for the Samaritan’s Purse project Operation Christmas Child. In addition, the Columbus area packed 1,218 shoeboxes (a record) using the Build a Shoebox link online. Across the U.S., the project collected more than 7.8 million such gifts in 2020. Combined with those collected from partnering countries in 2020, the ministry is now sending more than 8.9 million shoebox gifts to children worldwide.
