Black Restaurant Week: Nana’s Southern Kitchen KIRO 7 News Staff Black Restaurant Week is presenting its inaugural campaign in the Northwest region, with participation in food trucks, sweets and more. Today’s feature is Nana’s Southern Kitchen in Kent. It’s named after Todd Minor’s great-grandmother Myrtle Henderson who was born in Goshen, Virginia, and later moved to Connecticut. As a mother and grandmother, she cooked and served family and friends all the familiar Southern foods you can now find in the restaurant. Nana’s has also supported the community, including their annual tradition of serving 400 meals on Christmas Day for free.
