It comes with a few distinctive features and design elements over the Harrier (that it’s based on). The three-row Safari is available in both 6-seater and 7-seater layouts and is powered by a 170PS/350Nm 2.0-litre diesel engine. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a torque converter automatic.  However, it is the Safari’s pricing that draws one’s attention. 2021 Tata Safari SUV Launched At Rs 14 69 Lakh; Rivals The MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV500

All variants of the Safari garner a premium ranging from Rs 70,000 to Rs 1.35 lakh over the corresponding Harrier variants. While the 7-seater layout is offered in all variants, the 6-seater option is limited to the top-spec XZ+ only.  Up front, the Safari looks similar to the Harrier, but there are subtle tweaks like a tri-arrow grille and silver skid plate. The sides are where the real differences are larger 18-inch wheels, a stepped roof (for non-sunroof variants), and an upright tailgate thanks to the addition of the third row. That’s also why the Safari is 80mm taller than the Harrier. There’s also a Safari Adventure Edition that sports a tropical green color scheme, a dual-tone black-and-light-brown interior upholstery theme, blacked-out wheels, and chrome elements in matte black/gunmetal grey.
