Victim, suspect both charged in early morning stabbing in north Regina

During their investigation, police uncovered evidence that Geddes was attempting to steal a car in a nearby parking lot when the vehicle’s owner, also an adult male, arrived to witness the alleged theft. The vehicle owner, identified as 44-year-old Vincent Kakakaway of Regina, is alleged to have stabbed Geddes after an altercation. Police have arrested Kakakaway and charged him with aggravated assault. He made his first court appearance on Monday morning. Geddes has also been charged in relation to the altercation and alleged attempts to steal the vehicle, with counts of assault with a weapon, attempted theft of a motor vehicle and possession of break-in instruments.

Attemped vehicle theft turned stabbing ends in charges for two Regina men

By News Room Jun 28, 2021 | 5:07 PM Two residents of Regina have been charged after an apparent stabbing during an attempted vehicle theft on the morning of June 26. Police were sent at 4:00 a.m. to Dawson Crescent just west of Albert Street where they learned of a man who had been stabbed. An injured man was found at a home and was provided first aid by police until EMS arrived and transported him to hospital. He suffered serious but non-life-threatening stab wounds. The investigation determined that a man was trying to steal a car in a nearby parking lot on Avonhurst Drive and Elphinstone Street. The vehicle’s owner made his way to the scene where an altercation occurred in which it’s alleged the owner stabbed the suspect.

According to the Regina Police Service, officers were called Saturday at about 4 a.m., to a house on Dawson Crescent for a report of a weapons offence. When police arrived, they found a man who had been stabbed. Paramedics took the man to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening wounds. In the course of their investigation, officers determined the man allegedly had been trying to steal a car in a parking lot on Avonhurst Drive and Elphinstone Street when the vehicle’s owner arrived.
