Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong meets voters in Hanoi
ABO/NDO – Candidates running for seats in the 15th National Assembly (NA) of Hanoi s constituency No. 1, including Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, on May 8 held a meeting with local voters in Ba Dinh, Dong Da and Hai Ba Trung districts in both in-person and online forms.
After listening to voters’ opinions and aspirations, the candidates pledged that if selected, they will work hard and regularly meet people to understand their aspirations.

They highlighted their own action plans, focusing on promoting the role of people’s representatives, protecting the interests of people, and engaging in deciding important issues of the country and actively supervising the implementation of laws and operations of the State, Government and local administrations.

Hoa Binh City applies social distancing
The People’s Committee of Hoà Bình City, Hoà Bình Province, decided to apply social distancing for the whole city with a population of more than 135,000 people from midnight on Monday until further notice.
The move came after the COVID-19 pandemic showed complex developments in recent days.
Under the decision issued on Sunday, all meetings or gatherings of more than 20 people in a room (excluding meetings with voters) are banned.
People in the city were banned from gathering in groups of more than 10 people outside the workplace, schools or hospitals and they were told to keep a minimum distance of 2m among each other in public places, the decision said.

An Giang (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on May 9 held an urgent video conference with the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, relevant ministries and agencies, and six provinces along the southwestern border, focusing on how to respond to the latest COVID-19 resurgence in the country.
The conference was organised after the PM inspected pandemic prevention and control work in the southwestern border provinces. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, head of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, joined the meeting from Hanoi, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh from Tay Ninh province, and Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh accompanied Chinh from An Giang.
