Carlisle man jailed for trying to contact his ex

Appeal:Carlisle Crown Court A JUDGE has jailed a 31-year-old Carlisle man who flouted a restraining order by repeatedly trying to contact his former partner through her friend. Daniel Norman had denied the offence, but he was convicted after trial before magistrates. At Carlisle Crown Court, he tried but failed to overturn the conviction. After hearing evidence, Recorder Neville Biddle told the defendant, of Shadygrove Road, Carlisle, that he had tried “wriggle his way around” the law to avoid being punished. But evidence showed that he contacted his former partner’s friend in a clear attempt to generate contact with ex-partner, said Recorder Biddle.

Christopher John Peart breached Sexual Harm Prevention Order while on suspended sentence A SEX offender who was spared a prison sentence after falling for online activists’ sting last summer, is now behind bars after repeating the offence. Christopher John Peart thought he was contacting a 14-year-old girl on social media, offering her £50 for indecent photos and more to buy her silence. Durham Crown Court heard in reality he was communicating with a member of the Child Online Safety Team who posted the decoy profile of the girl. Peart was given a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, with an order to attend 30 rehabilitation sessions overseen by the Probation Service, when he appeared at the court for sentence, on August 25.

Paedophile bus driver at Durham Prison died days after victims came forward

Former bus driver Brian Daniels died in prison A PREDATORY paedophile died in a County Durham jail days after more of his victims came forward. According to a prison report published on March 1, 2021, Brian Daniels, 74, was jailed for 18 years after being convicted of a string of attacks on four young girls. Daniels – formerly known as Brian Hildreth – was also handed a life-long sexual harm prevention order by Newcastle Crown Court. The string of horrific offences included rape with the youngest victim being just five-years-old. Daniels had been due to be released on licence in May 2020 but when confronted with new allegations from three more victims confessed to 11 historical sexual offences.
