CORTLAND A Youngstown man was arrested Thursday after an early morning vehicle chase through the heart of Trumbull County involving a stolen van.
Dauntell Stanley, 30, is facing charges of receiving stolen property, failure to comply and theft, all fourth-degree felonies, jail records show.
Cortland police Chief David Morris said officers were advised of a stolen commercial van on state Route 46 coming from Howland. The vehicle was taken from a business in Liberty earlier in the day and had been chased on two separate occasions by several police agencies.
Morris said a Cortland officer in an unmarked vehicle saw the van on Route 46 not actively being pursued. “The vehicle passed two vehicles and was driving extremely reckless,” Morris said. “He created a danger and needed to be stopped.”
