Chicago chef Beverly Kim (Parachute) has spearheaded an anti-racism campaign in the wake of the violent acts perpetuated against Asian American Pacific Islanders (AAPI) across the country.
Dough Something is designed to be a campaign where chefs will cook up dough-based dishes and donate proceeds to national chapter of Asian Americans Advancing Justice. So far, 37 restaurants and bars from Chicago and other cities have signed up for the effort.
Participating Chicago chefs include Jason Hammel (Lula Cafe), Tigist Reda (Demera), Darnell Reed (Luella’s Southern Kitchen), Stefanie Izard (Sugargoat), and Sandra Holl (Floriole Cafe). Josh Kulp and Christine Cikowski (Honey Butter Fried Chicken) are also onboard with culinary director Cam Waron. Waron, who has started his own operation Tuber’s Donuts came up with the idea for Dough Something as Kim brought other chefs into the fold. Chicago’s bars are also getting invol

ZACHARY, La. (WAFB) - The Zachary Police Department has made an arrest in connection to the shooting death of a 50-year-old man on Sunday, Jan. 24.
Officials state that they have arrested Tytus Hayes, 19, and has been charged with second-degree murder. Hayes was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison without incident. Tytus Hayes (Source: Zachary Police Department)
According to officials, the shooting happened on New Weis Road and Truman Road. The coroner’s office identified the victim as Darnell Reed, 50.
Officials said the shooting stems from a domestic dispute.
