May 27, 1941: The British Royal Navy sank the German battleship Bismarck off France with a loss of some 2,000 lives, three days after the Bismarck sank the HMS Hood with the loss of more than 1,400 lives. Amid rising world tensions, President Franklin D. Roosevelt proclaimed an “unlimited national emergency” during a radio address from the White House.

1861: Chief Justice Roger Taney, sitting as a federal circuit court judge in Baltimore, ruled that President Abraham Lincoln lacked the authority to suspend the writ of habeas corpus (Lincoln disregarded the ruling).
1896: 255 people were killed when a tornado struck St. Louis and East St. Louis, Illinois.
The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) will be in charge after Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) scandal breaks out. He’ll realize he must save Spencer Publications while his dad and brother are locked up, but you can bet he’ll struggle to put out all the fires and process what’s happening to his family.
B&B fans know Wyatt has been suspicious of what Bill and Liam might be keeping under wraps. Wyatt can tell it’s something big and truly horrible, but he’s not sure about the details just yet.

HOLLYWOOD I guess I shouldn’t be surprised knowing that the ABC soap “General Hospital” is the leading contender for the 48th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. The contenders were announced on Tuesday, May 25, and the soap opera earned a massive 21 nominations a vast majority in the acting races which could be good news or bad news depending who you speak to.
“The Young and the Restless” and “Days of Our Lives” were behind with 11 nominations each. Of course all four soaps, that includes “The Bold and the Beautiful” are nominated for the Outstanding Drama Series race, and also earned a nomination in the Outstanding Drama Series Directing Team category. The late Alex Trebek and Larry King also earned Emmy nominations for Best Game Show Host and Informative Talk Show Host. Where there surprises?
