Carol was born in Quincy, Mass. on Nov. 26, 1939, the daughter of Edwin and Mary Davidson. She graduated from North Quincy High School and attended Colby College in Waterville for two years. She then earned her MT degree from the Boston University Hospital School of Medical Technology. Carol married Richard Jack following his graduation from the University of Maine. They moved to Ft. Sill, Okla. where Richard fulfilled his military obligation as a 2nd Lt. in the Army Artillery. They then moved to the Hudson Valley area of New York State where they lived and worked for the next 36 years. Carol worked as a Medical Technologist in local hospitals and doctors offices. They’re the support system for all the great and diverse programs offered by the library and they’ve never been more important than during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The Friends are a registered non-for-profit volunteer organization that supports that supports programs and services of CPL through fundraising, advocacy, and volunteering. They coordinate large book sales, support writing contests, and help the Library purchase a variety of materials, including books, musical instruments, furniture for reading areas, book club sets, and much more.

SHARE Nicole Radziwill graduated from Pennsylvania State University at the age of 18 and went on to earn an MBA and a Ph.D. in technology management and quality systems. She taught data science at the university level for 11 years, did a stint as editor-in-chief of the academic journal Software Quality Professional and has been a national examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for more than a decade. She has written three books on statistics, one of which is a standard textbook in more than 25 universities. By all accounts, Radziwill is brilliant and successful in her field, but a two-hour business meeting can inflict sensory overload. Stress factors in the workplace include lights, smells, loud conversations and even the sensation of wearing business attire. “Nothing is comfortable ever,” she said.
