For Mother’s Day, the Rideau Valley Conservation Foundation is launching it’s special occasion tree-planting program, where you can plant an environmental legacy in your mother’s name,
Executive Director for the foundation Diane Downey says these trees not only help fight erosion, manage floods, and keep contaminants out of our waterways – but they also make a great Mother’s Day gift.
“We want to recognize mom’s on Mother’s Day, and give back to Mother Earth,” Downey said. “It just sort of has a nice ring to it, and also it’s a meaningful way to recognize mom with a legacy tree. This applies for many other applications as well but Mother’s Day is right around the corner.”
