Chair, Department of Surgery, UC Davis Health Dr. Diana Farmer was driving across the country, from Wellesley College in Massachusetts to Seattle, to interview for the Rhodes Scholarship in 1976 when a car accident sidelined her goal to be among the first women recipients of the prestigious fellowship.
