Two die of COVID, 73 test +ve Two die of COVID, 73 test +ve Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Feb 14: Two persons died and 73 tested positive for COVID-19 while 65 others recovered from the virus in Jammu and Kashmir. A 75-year-old man from Ekta Vihar in Gangyal area of Jammu died of ailments and virus in Dayanand Medical College (DMC) Ludhiana. His body was brought to the GMC Jammu as per COVID protocol for cremation, Medical Superintendent Dr Dara Singh said. A 58-year-old man from Ellahibagh Soura in Srinagar succumbed to COVID-19 in a hospital in the Valley. Fifteen persons tested positive for Coronavirus in the Jammu region 14 in Jammu district and one in Poonch while eight other districts didn’t report any fresh case today.

After receiving the jab, the DC said he was feeling completely fine and healthy. He urged residents not to panic or believe in rumours spread on the social media regarding the vaccine. Later, he interacted with residents through his weekly Facebook live session. The DC was accompanied by Dr Bishav Mohan, Professor of Cardiology, and Dr Ashwani K Chaudhary, Professor and Head, Community Medicine, Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, in the session.

4000 soldiers deployed in Eastern Ladakh to get vaccination on LAC

Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Jan 15: Four thousand soldiers and Army doctors and paramedics deployed along Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh will be vaccinated in Phase-I of Corona vaccination beginning tomorrow while five persons died of COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir, 144 tested positive for the virus and 179 others recovered. Official sources told the Excelsior that the Union Health Ministry along with the Union Territory administration in Ladakh and Army have made special arrangements to vaccinate 4000 Army soldiers deployed in various forward areas of the Eastern Ladakh in prolonged standoff with the Chinese troops. Ladakh had yesterday received 11,500 doses of Covishield vaccine.
