Three injured in King of Prussia after elevator falls several floors

UPPER MERION Three people were injured Monday night after an elevator fell from the eighth floor to the first, according to a release from Upper Merion Police Department. According to police, Upper Merion Township police and personnel from the Fire and EMS Department responded at 9:48 Monday night to 251 DeKalb Apartments, 251 W DeKalb Pike, King of Prussia, for an elevator rescue. When they arrived fire department personnel worked to extricate three people, two from the elevator car and one from the top of the elevator, which was on the first floor. Upper Merion Ambulance tended to the victims while police investigated the incident. All three victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Two victims were transported to Paoli Hospital while the third victim was flown to to Penn Presbyterian Hospital. All three victims are males, from King of Prussia, ranging in age from 20 to 22.
