DUNNSTOWN It was a smooth sailing Thursday for those who received either their first or second dose of COVID vaccine at the Dunnstown Fire Co. For the past few months, UPMC has been utilizing the fire company building in order to administer as many shots as they can to combat COVID in Clinton County a county with one of the lowest ratios of given vaccinations in central Pennsylvania. A total of 675 shots were scheduled to be administered Thursday, said UPMC Manager Becky Levi.

Woodward Twp to resurrect sewer authority to ease debt restriction | News, Sports, Jobs

CHASE BOTTORF cbottorf@lockhaven.com DUNNSTOWN A majority of Woodward Township supervisors say they need to resurrect their municipal sewer authority to give the township flexibility to borrow money to pay for capital projects and help with funding a new fire truck. The board recently voted 2-1 to seek new authority members as part of the measure. Voting in favor were Supervisors Wayne Love and John Barth. Supervisor Kyle Coleman voted no. The same board in November 2018 voted to disband the authority because they desired to reduce the authority’s costs after the independent body purchased a residential home in Dunnstown and converted it into an office in what was considered a controversial move. They also said there were management issues at the time that needed resolved.

Senior Luncheon canceled Due to the governor’s recommendation to curtail indoor dining, the Sugar Valley Senior Luncheon scheduled for today has been canceled. If restrictions are lifted, the next regular luncheon at the Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021 at noon. Dunnstown Fire Co. NYE raffle The Dunnstown Fire Company is already prepping to say good-bye to 2020 with a special raffle scheduled for Dec. 31. Tickets cost $5 and can be purchased by contacting the fire company at (570) 748-7808. The raffle will be livestreamed on the fire company’s Facebook page on New Year’s Eve with five prizes starting at $1,000. Second place will win $500; third will win $250; fourth will win $100; and fifth will be $50. Money raised from the event will benefit the fire company.
