CLEVELAND, Ohio It was an ironic twist of fate that considering the world over the last year was stuck at home living its own “Groundhog Day”-like experience, streaming services offered a number of loop movies where characters experience the same day over and over again before discovering some level of self-fulfillment.
Taking a different approach to the same feeling is Northeast Ohio native Brandon LaGanke’s new film “Drunk Bus,” which highlights the worst kind of literal loop working a dead-end job with no end in sight.
Many of Western Michigan University s older buildings are being updated to better suit the needs of students among these buildings is Dunbar Hall, which is set to open Fall 2023.
The renovations were put on hold in May 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but construction and design have started up again, delaying the opening by one year.
The project budget of $43.7 million has been consistent, but they will not know indefinitely if costs will be over or under that price until renovations are completed. The 78,670 square foot building will receive a modernized look with 9,817 added square ft. The plans also include increased sustainability and inclusivity.Â
Spring has finally arrived and Western Michigan Universityâs Facilities Management is prepared to bring that feeling to students on campus.Â
Mark Frever, director of landscaping, said students can look for many colorful flowers and bright green grass that has recovered from the winter. Miller fountain will also be filled again in the beginning of April.Â
âIn regards of what students can be looking forward to for the spring, they will see a lot of flower bulbs come up and they will start to see all the grass regenerate,â said Frever, âIt doesn t look like much currently but it won t be long until these will all be back.âÂ
