First Transit Cruise Call of Celebrity Edge a Stepping Stone for Regular Port Calls Published: 07 July 2021 POINTE BLANCHE: -  Port St. Maarten management on Wednesday morning met with Celebrity Edge Captain Kate McCue at the gangway upon arrival of the cruise ship to destination St. Maarten, the first transit call to the country since the onset of the pandemic and presented a token of appreciation on behalf of the port and the St. Maarten Tourism Bureau. Captain Kate was ecstatic when it was mentioned that coincidentally Celebrity Edge was the last commercial ship that visited the destination back in March 2020.

St Martin News Network - Taxi drivers that are not part of DSTA could apply for stimulus independently

Published: 20 January 2021 PHILIPSBURG: - Taxi drivers that work as freelance drivers or those working at the Princess Juliana International Airport under the ATS could have applied for stimulus support independently said Minister of Finance Ardwell Irion. Irion was responding to questions posed by SMN News as to why all taxi drivers on St. Maarten are not receiving stimulus. Irion further explained that those taxi drivers that did not apply through the Dutch Taxi Association (DSTA) could have applied independently however those persons must have all their documents in order before they could be qualified to receive a stimulus. Irion made clear that every driver that is working freelance or independently are responsible for their own application.
