Kilmardinny Park: Hundreds back ambitious calls to transform mud bath Bearsden green space

MOMENTUM is growing behind a bid to transform a Bearsden park described as a “mud bath” by parents and community leaders. Hundreds of locals have backed the ambitious calls to overhaul Kilmardinny Park and bring it up to scratch with those in the surrounding towns and villages. Drainage issues in the greenspace – commonly known as the Gruffalo Park due to the nearby Gruffalo Trail – have long been a source of frustration for residents as has the deteriorating condition of play equipment. Mum-of-two Louise Christie, 43, is one of those leading the charge and she said flooding often makes the park a “no-go” zone for some.
