The couple was married for more than six decades.
A native of Amsterdam, N.Y., Mr. Douglas graduated from St. Lawrence University, Canton, in 1939 as an English major. The university awarded him an honorary degree in 1958. He and Anne started the Douglas Foundation in 1964 to promote health and educational programs.
Mr. Douglas died in February 2020 at the age of 103.
In 1999, St. Lawrence University established the Kirk Douglas Scholarship with a $1 million donation from the film star. The school expanded the scholarship in 2012 with another gift from the Douglases, in the amount of $5 million. SLU named a new residence hall in Mr. Douglasâ honor in 2014, a 155-bed facility. In 2016, the couple donated another $2 million to his alma mater.

Anne Douglas, the widow of Kirk Douglas and a former film publicist, has died at the age of 102.
She died in her Beverly Hills home on Thursday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“She brought out the best in all of us, especially our father,” stepson Michael Douglas said in a statement to THR. “Dad would never have had the career he did without Anne’s support and partnership. Catherine and I and the children adored her; she will always be in our hearts.”

Anne Douglas, a film publicist who first met Kirk Douglas on the Paris set of
Act of Love in 1953 and married him a year later, died Thursday. She was 102.
Douglas died at the longtime Beverly Hills home she shared with the legendary actor and husband of 66 years, her family announced. He died at age 103 on Feb. 5, 2020.
She worked for director John Huston as a location scout and assistant on
Moulin Rouge (1952), then began a three-year stint in 1953 as head of protocol at the Cannes Film Festival, scheduling parties and making sure they were filled with celebrities and media.
The longtime Hollywood staple, who presided over The Bryna Company and the Douglas Foundation until her death, died peacefully at her home in Beverly Hills, Calif., representatives for the Douglas family told Fox News on Thursday.
Buydens first met the movie star love of her life in 1953 when Douglas offered her a job as his publicist while he was in Paris to film Act of Love. Although she initially rebuffed a dinner date from the late star, Buydens instead opted for scrambled eggs at home a few hours later.
In 2017, the couple published a book about their decades-long romance titled Kirk and Anne: Letters of Love, Laughter, and a Lifetime in Hollywood.
