SunStar + April 05, 2021 KRISTINE Tiuseco-Cruz is one of the Filipinos doing very well abroad. Her family live in Washington State in the United States and she works as a physician who takes care of hospitalized patient in Tacoma General Hospital. She is one of the doctors who rotate through hospital’s Covid units. This young doctor from the Philippines got inoculated with the Pfizer vaccine. She had a bit of swelling at the injection site on both doses that she had and nothing more. The USA has good supply and she was able to receive two doses 21 days apart. Some countries, like Canada, are waiting for the second doses to be given to healthcare workers for now as they await more supplies to come.

May 26, 1958 - January 10, 2021 Brett Alan Snyder, 62, of La Grande, Oregon, passed away on January 10 from complications of a chronic medical condition at Tacoma General Hospital. Brett was born and raised in La Grande, Oregon, and graduated from La Grande High School in 1976. As an astonishing father, grandfather, friend, colleague and mentor, Brett impacted all he crossed paths with. Brett loved playing with his grandchildren in his spare time, camping, hunting with his brothers, fishing with his children and vacationing with his friends and family. He was a kind and loving husband to his wife, Karen, for 35 years and a determined father to his children: Devin, Ashley and Aaron.

Track installation on Division Avenue near Wright Park begins this week

Crews will start installing track on Division Avenue from Yakima Avenue to I Street near Wright Park as soon as Thursday, Jan. 14. The contractor also will install track on the section of N. 1st St. near the triangle. During this work, Division Ave. will be closed to eastbound traffic from I St. to S. G St., and closed to westbound traffic near the triangle. Please follow the detour on N. 1st St., Division Ave., S. I St., 6th Ave, and St. Helens – thank you. To access Kaiser Permanente and Tacoma General from Stadium Way, continue on Stadium Way to N. 1st St. to Division Ave.

16-year-old shot at Southworth park during vape cartridge ruse, two face charges Andrew Binion, Kitsap Sun © stock sirens A 16-year-old was shot Saturday night after allegedly being lured to a park near Southworth, believing he was going to sell vape cartridges in what turned out to be a retaliatory robbery attempt. Elijah Alexander Head Hill, who turned 21 on Tuesday, confessed to Kitsap County sheriff’s detectives that he shot the teen after a confrontation at Harper Park, according to court documents charging Head Hill in Kitsap County Superior Court with first-degree assault. Head Hill has a trial date set for Feb. 16.
