A Long Lake man was sentenced to five years in prison for setting fires in a government building in Apple Valley as riots took place in Minneapolis over the death of George Floyd.
Garrett Patrick Ziegler, 25, pleaded guilty on Friday in U.S. District Court to aiding and abetting arson. Ziegler and his associate in the case, Fornandous Cortez Henderson, broke windows with baseball bats and threw Molotov cocktails into the Dakota County Western Service Center at 14955 Galaxie Av. on May 29, according to a U.S. Attorney s Office news release.

APPLE VALLEY, MN A man has been sentenced to five years in prison for throwing Molotov Cocktails into the Dakota County Western Service Center that damaged the building, the U.S. Attorney s Office for the District of Minnesota announced Thursday.
In a guilty plea, Garrett Patrick Ziegler, 25 of Long Lake, admitted to driving himself and the co-defendant in the case, Fornandous Cortez Henderson, to the Western Service Center in Apple Valley. This center houses multiple court facilities as well as a U.S. Passport center.

A Savage man has been sentenced to more than six years in federal prison for his role in an arson fire at a Dakota County government building in May.
Fornandous Cortez Henderson, 33, of Savage, was sentenced to 78 months in prison for aiding and abetting arson on Wednesday, the U.S. Attorney s Office said in a news release. He pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting arson on Aug. 26.
He and another man, Garrett Patrick Ziegler, 24, of Long Lake, were charged with arson in June in connection to the May 29 fire.

United States Attorney Erica H. MacDonald today announced the sentencing of FORNANDOUS CORTEZ HENDERSON, 33, to 78 months in prison for aiding and abetting arson. HENDERSON who plead guilty on August 26, 2020, was sentenced today by Judge Susan Richard Nelson, in U.S. District Court, in St. Paul, Minnesota.
