The developer is planning a mix of single family and “empty-nester” patio homes.
As previously reported, the project has drawn strong opposition from the Southwest Licking Schools District, whose officials say the development could trigger need of a new elementary school in the vicinity.
Residents in surrounding existing neighborhoods in Licking County, as well as in Violet Township in Fairfield County, have also expressed concerns about increased traffic, drainage and the impact on local schools, among other concerns.
They vowed far ahead of any trustee decision to seek a referendum on the proposed development based on density concerns, stating the Pulte plan exceeds the township’s own comprehensive plan based on unit density.
