A 25-year-old man was arrested Thursday morning after allegedly fleeing from Chatham-Kent police in a stolen vehicle in Wallaceburg.
Police responded around 9:30 a.m. after a vehicle was stolen on Sanford Street. Officers quickly found the vehicle on Dufferin Avenue,

OTTAWA A 14-year-old boy riding a scooter has died after being struck by a vehicle in Trenton. Ontario Provincial Police responded to the incident at the intersection of King Street and Dufferin Avenue just after 4:30 Thursday evening. Police say it was reported a youth on a scooter was struck by a vehicle. The teen was transported to hospital in critical, life-threatening condition. He later died from his injuries. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Police say no charges are expected after a Thursday-afternoon collision took the life of a 14-year-old Quinte West boy.
It happened at about 4:35 p.m. in the intersection of King Street and Dufferin Avenue in Trenton, Const. Devin Leeworthy said.

“It’s one of those collisions where nobody’s really at fault. It’s just a tragic circumstance,” he said in a telephone interview.
“Charges are not anticipated.”
Leeworthy said Christopher Bishop was riding a PlasmaCar – a low, three-wheeled, scooter-type vehicle – southbound down the hill on Dufferin Avenue just north of King Street. He was “apparently unable to stop, or lost control, and went straight into the intersection in front of the oncoming car.” The PlasmaCar was not motorized and did not have brakes, he added.
Streets affected will be Roch Street from Poplar Avenue to Leighton Avenue; Warsaw Avenue from Thurso Street to Pembina Highway; Machray Avenue from Fife Street to Main Street; and Powers Street from Dufferin Avenue to Partridge Avenue. Speed bumps will be installed on these streets, and the limits lowered to 30km/h.
“We’re looking to see how it works, how Winnipeggers respond, how the neighbourhoods respond,” Allard said. “It’s a pilot, it’s a test run. So we’re going to put up the signage, we’re going to see how drivers respond, how the cyclists respond, how the neighbourhoods respond, how the pedestrians respond. We’re going to get data from what putting up signage to reduce the speed does.”
