Quinte Health Care is imposing more restrictions on visiting at its four hospitals and closing Belleville General Hospital’s emergency entrance to all but emergency patients starting Saturday.
Some patients will still be allowed to see people deemed to be their care partners but most other visitors will not be allowed entry, the corporation announced Friday in a news release.

The hospitals define care partners as “a loved one and advocate who provides ongoing and essential social, emotional and physical support to a patient.” Patients identify those partners, who receive identification from QHC.

A 54-year-old driver has been charged, after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Quinte West yesterday (Tuesday) night.
Police were called to the crash at Dundas Street West and Dufferin Avenue in Trenton, where a person was hit by a vehicle. The pedestrian was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver from Quinte West, was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian on a roadway.
