The D-Max Hi-Lander is a slightly premium version of the standard D-Max S-Cab and is positioned below the V-Cross.
The pick-up features a sportier front fascia with a redesigned front bumper, halogen headlamps, black ORVMs and steel wheels instead of alloys. Inside, the Hi-Lander gets manual air-conditioning and a 4-speaker audio system.
The Hi-Lander is powered by a 1.9-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 161 BHP @ 3,600 rpm and 360 Nm @ 2,000-2,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Isuzu’s India division is gearing up for a trio of launches on May 10, 2021 at 12:00 noon for the domestic market as the updated versions of the D-Max V-Cross and MU-X along with new V-Cross Hi-Lander are being readied for debut with BSVI compliance. The 2021 D-Max V-Cross was spotted testing a number of times already and it was officially teased as well.
The biggest change will be the 1.9-litre four-cylinder diesel engine replacing the 2.5-litre diesel motor, and it produces a maximum power output of 161 bhp and 360 Nm of peak torque. The powertrain is linked with a six-speed automatic transmission only while a four-wheel-drive system is restricted to the top-end variant (shift on fly).
The V-Cross will be offered in two trims - Z and Z Prestige, with 2WD and 4WD respectively.
Isuzu has teased the upcoming V-Cross and Hi-Lander on its official Facebook page. According to some dealers, the tentative launch date is May 8, 2021.
Isuzu plans to introduce two variants of the D-Max which include the familiar V-Cross and a new base-spec Hi-Lander.
As per a leaked document, the V-Cross will be offered in two trims - Z and Z Prestige, with 2WD and 4WD respectively.
