Huge potholes in and around Thurso are causing a danger to drivers and pedestrians, according to local community councillors.
And there is not enough money in Caithness to keep on top of them all, local Highland councillors have warned.
The concerns were raised as freezing temperatures and freeze-thaw cycles continued to add further damage to road and pavement surfaces.

After multiple attempts by a Murkle woman to have her Christmas gifts picked up by a tardy courier, the John O Groat Journal resolved the matter within an hour of contacting the company s press team.
Jean Brock s 12 days of Christmas nightmare started on Friday, December 4 when she contacted Hermes to have four parcels picked to send as presents to family members in Tadcaster, Yorkshire. I was waiting for the parcels to be picked up from my home on the Friday and had paid for it two days before, said Ms Brock.
