But “low paid” care workers have yet to receive their payment despite NHS staff being paid.
391,000 social care staff are due to receive the full payment whilst those working part-time would receive a partial amount based on their hours of work.
COSLA, which represents Scottish Councils said they were working with the SNP led Scottish Government to put in place “practical processes for the implementation of their policy.”
SNP ministers at Holyrood are also coming under increasing pressure from nursing Unions after a 1 percent pay rise was offered to Scottish NHS frontline workers.

Scottish Labour has confirmed its list of regional candidates for the Holyrood elections, with leadership candidate Anas Sarwar giving up his top spot to make it gender-balanced.
The party’s members were able to vote for their preferred candidates for the regional list system hoping to be elected to the Scottish Parliament after the election on May 6.

Scotland s largest trade union has expressed concerns over the safety, accessibility and fairness of the planned Holyrood elections in May this year. In a letter to Scottish Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Local Government Aileen Campbell, UNISON has questioned the democratic legitimacy of the Holyrood elections and local by-elections if they go ahead. The union highlighted the number of significant public health issues to consider before proceeding, namely the level four restrictions imposed to mitigate the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. In their letter to Ms Campbell, the union expressed “serious concerns regarding the conduct of these elections given the impact of Covid restrictions and the safety of UNISON members who would be expected to facilitate them.”
