VICTORIA CONSIDERING JOCKEY MANAGER BET BAN
July 5, 2021 12:12 pm
By Matt Stewart, Racing Editor
Victoria is likely to soon follow suit with NSW and impose greater restrictions on jockey agents in the wake of the
John Walter disqualification in
Sydney.
Walter, a high-profile punter and one of the most prominent jockey agents in NSW, was last month handed a six-month disqualification by
Racing NSW stewards for betting in races in which one of his clients was competing.
Walter pleaded guilty to the charge after placing 25 bets across five races in NSW where a jockey he represented,
Josh Parr, was riding.
