LIMA Controversies of varying degrees surround three of the four candidates who will square off in May to become the next mayor of Lima.
Mayoral hopeful and former city neighborhood specialist Autumn Swanson on Wednesday entered a written plea of not guilty in Lima Municipal Court to charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to maintain reasonable control following her arrest early Sunday morning. She has requested a pretrial and waived her right to a speedy trial.

According to Allen County Sheriff’s Office and Lima Municipal Court records, Autumn Swanson, 41, was arrested around 1 a.m. Sunday morning and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to maintain reasonable control.

LIMA One of the candidates for Lima mayor has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged driving while intoxicated incident.
According to Allen County Sheriff’s Office and Lima Municipal Court records, Autumn Swanson, 41, was arrested around 1 a.m. Sunday morning and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to maintain reasonable control.

LIMA The campaign to succeed retiring Mayor David Berger comes down to four: Lima’s Chief of Staff Sharetta Smith, former city neighborhood specialist Autumn Swanson, chiropractor and business owner Joshua Hayes and gas and geologist Elizabeth Hardesty are headed to a run-off election on May 4, which will determine which two candidates will go head-to-head in November’s General Election.
Wednesday was the deadline for candidates to return signatures and petitions to qualify for the run-off election, which will be held in 90 days.
