In the Jefferson Parish incident on Woodvine Drive, Police say a woman was returning home last Friday night. As she got to the front door, the two gunmen approached her and snatched her car keys out of her hand. Moments later, the gunmen came back and took the woman’s purse. The victim’s husband was inside at the time and came running out as the gunmen took off in his wife’s car.

The New Orleans Police Department said Wednesday that 19-year-old Joshua Dean was responsible for five carjackings across both parishes between Feb. 9 - 13. Investigators say the following incidents were connected and Dean was positively identified as a perpetrator:

Robert Garrett The NOPD has arrested Joshua Dean, 18, and has obtained an arrest warrant for Robert Garrett, 23, in the ongoing investigation of multiple armed carjacking incidents in Uptown neighborhoods and in the Navarre neighborhood and Jefferson Parish. NOPD Second District detectives determined that four recent armed carjacking incidents were related, three in the Uptown area. Two occurred in Carrollton on Feb. 9, one in the 8100 block of Green Street, targeting two women delivering food. It was quickly followed by another on Cohn and Pine streets. Another occurred late Saturday (Feb. 13) in the 3600 block of State Street. A 59-year-old woman and her 15-year-old son were picking up a passenger when two gunmen forced them out of their vehicle.
