Austin Public Schools 45/15 schedule students first day back

Created: July 26, 2021 03:27 PM (ABC 6 News) - In Austin, the school district is already welcoming some students back for the school year. Families who opted into the 45/15 schedule sent their little ones back to class Monday morning. Some wore their masks, and many went without them.  It s a great opportunity to provide families with an option with their calendar. A balanced calendar, as I mentioned before, is just a calendar in which no break is longer than eight weeks, Woodson Kindergarten Center Principal Jill Rollie said.  Students on this schedule are returning after summer break - their longest break of the year. They had about five weeks off before heading back to class Monday.
