Two suspects have been charged in connection to the Charlotte, North Carolina killings of two transgender women.

Police arrested two suspects in Charlotte, North Carolina on Friday that are believed to be connected to two shooting deaths of Black transgender women.
Jaida Peterson, 29, was found dead on April 4 at a Quality Inn & Suites Airport hotel, just a little over a week before Remy Fennell, 28, was discovered dead at the Sleep Inn University Place on April 15. The striking similarities in the two separate incidents led investigators to suspect a transphobic serial killer may have been at large.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. The two men accused of killing two trans women made their first appearances before a judge Monday during a virtual court hearing.
Dontarius Long and Joel Brewer were identified and arrested last week by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department in connection with the killings of Jaida Peterson and Remy Fennell.
Both Long and Brewer remain in custody with no bond after their hearings.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Two transgender women were killed in the past two weeks, both families are grieving and frustrated that their lives were taken.
The first homicide happened at the Quality Inn off Queen City Drive on April 4. The woman, in this case, was identified as 29-year-old Jaida Peterson.
The second was reported April 15 at the Sleep Inn on North Tryon Street. Police identified the woman as 28-year-old Remy Fennell.
