LOS ANGELES (Xinhua) Open Road s action thriller film The Marksman sprinted to the top of the North American box office in its opening weekend with an estimated 3.22 million U.S. dollars from 1,975 theaters between Friday and Sunday, according to studio figures collected by measurement firm Comscore.
Directed by Robert Lorenz and starring Liam Neeson, the film follows a hardened U.S. rancher living in an Arizona border town who helps an 11-year-old boy escape a Mexican drug cartel.

Film Review: ‘The Croods: A New Age’: Sequel-itis Sets In
The original “The Croods” (2013), about a family of Neanderthal cave dwellers, created such an exotic world and fetching, original atmosphere that when its (voice) cast rode their menagerie of prehistoric pets down the beach and into the sunset, you wanted to go with them so the movie would not end. Those are the best kinds of kids’ movies. Actually, the best any kind of movies. One had hoped “The Croods: A New Age” would be more of the same.
