Work on much-needed drainage improvements on Davis Mill Road will soon begin after Todd Fiscal Court approved a resolution during a special-called meeting Tuesday morning.
Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield says he’s been assured by the state that Todd County can proceed with drainage work at the bridge near Trenton on Davis Mill and already promised state funds will come in as reimbursement after July 1.
Total cost of that project is $19,518.
Flooding on February 28 washed out a section of Jones Road and Judge Mansfield says the state has agreed to pay half of the costs to make those repairs.
CANTON â With agreements approved and contracts awarded, two St. Lawrence County bridges are ready to be rehabbed this year.
The county Board of Legislatorsâ Finance Committee on Monday night unanimously passed three resolutions related to planned work for the County Route 27 bridge in Russell and the Island Branch Road bridge in Fowler.
The two plans fall under the countyâs ongoing Bridge Preservation Project, and each moved into the final design and construction phases with approval from the state Department of Transportation late this winter, County Highway Superintendent Donald R. Chambers said.
Located just south of Tooley Pond Road in the Russell hamlet of Degrasse, the County Route 27 bridge spans the Grasse River, and the Island Branch Road bridge spans the Island Branch of the Oswegatchie River at the River Road intersection.
