Body recovered, man identified in Tiscornia Beach drowning Search crews at North Pier on Thursday BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. The St. Joseph Public Safety Department has located the body of a man that drowned near the North Pier at Tiscornia Beach on Thursday. Officials say divers from the Michigan State Police and Berrien County Sheriff s Department have located the drowning victim, now identified as 80-year-old Sammuel Sohn, near the North Pier just before 6 p.m. on July 10th. Officers from the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety were dispatched to the North Pier at Tiscornia Beach for a man needing help to get off the pier on Thursday, July 8th, around 10 a.m.

Steve Neubecker, director of the St. Joseph Public Safety Department, said the case was reopened in late April based on information received from Brian Conybeare, a reporter at ABC57 in South Bend, Indiana.
