Baroda-Lake Township Police Department Holding Night Out Event

July 30, 2021 The Baroda-Lake Township Police Department will hold a National Night Out celebration this coming week. Police National Night Out is an event held around the country every summer for the public to have a chance to meet and interact with their local officers. In the case of the Baroda-Lake Township Police Department, the gathering will be at Lake Township Park on Gast Road on Tuesday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. On hand will be police offering food, games for the kids, a fire department Jaws of Life demonstration, and women’s self defense information. Also holding National Night Out events the same evening is the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety, which will be at Dwight P Mitchell City Center Park starting at 5 p.m., and the St. Joseph Township Police Department, which will be at Maiden Lane Community Park starting at 5:30.

The 38th annual National Night Out is set for Tuesday, August 3 with events taking place across the country. The St. Joseph Township Police Department says a local celebration will be at Maiden Lane Community Park from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Residents are asked to lock their doors, turn on their outside lights, and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police. National Night Out is a chance for the citizens of a given community to get to know their local police and other first responders. At the St. Joseph Township event, there will be a Jaws of Life demonstration, a landing by Med Flight out of South Bend, fire trucks, police cars, and other emergency equipment available to view. Hot dogs, chips, soda, and ice cream sundaes will be provided free of charge. Everyone’s welcome to come out and meet their first responders. More than 34 million people are expected to take part in “America’s Night Out Against Crime” on the third.

JOSEPH TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Community members are invited to take part in the 38th annual National Night Out at Maiden Lane Community Park on Tuesday, Aug. 3, the St. Joseph Township Police Department tells us. National Night Out is a countrywide event devoted to preventing drugs and crime. Participants are asked to lock their doors and turn on their exterior lights while interacting with police and neighbors from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event will include a demonstration of the Jaws of Life, a helicopter landing, and a showcase of various emergency vehicles and equipment, according to St. Joseph police.
