Five cases involving handguns, including four shootings, have occurred on Rutherford County interstates since March 6.
One driver escaped injury when another motorist fired a handgun into his car Friday on Interstate 24, Rutherford County Sheriff’s deputies said in a news release.
Another driver reported someone shot out her driver’s side window Saturday on Interstate 840 and a commercial tractor-trailer driver reported a driver pointed a handgun at him Monday while traveling on I-24 near the Buchanan Road exit.
Detective Capt. Britt Reed said the shootings are not believed to be related.

PARADISE, Calif. - For the first time since before the Camp Fire, the long-anticipated Gold Nugget Days Parade returned to Paradise in full-force. To find out that we were having a parade again was just a huge light of hope, said Joseph Duncan, from Paradise.
He added, Words can t describe I mean it s just so warm to feel everyone around and enjoying, it s back to when before the fire.
