First day of Paradise s Party in the Park will honor military heritage
The Paradise Ridge Chamber of Commerce is preparing for the Party in the Park event that is set to kick off on June 16.

PARADISE, Calif. – The Paradise Ridge Chamber of Commerce is preparing for a Town favorite event – Party in the Park. The event kicks off June 16 and will run through Aug. 4.
Party in the Park is a seasonal tradition of local pride and community vitality for Paradise.
“To somebody who hasn’t been, it’s a collection of the community getting together at the Paradise Community Park to listen to music, to bounce around the farmers market with the kids’ zone and generally just connect to different individuals within the community,” said Mark Thorp, the business advocate for the Paradise Ridge Chamber of Commerce.
Take part in ‘Make a Difference Days’ with Love Paradise
Love Paradise is calling on the community to help clean up the Ridge on April 30 and May 1.

PARADISE, Calif. – The Love Paradise organization is calling on community members to help clean up the Ridge on Friday and Saturday.
People will clean up major roadways and parks on the Ridge.
Drive thru registration and task assignments will start at 8:30 a.m. at the Paradise Community Park.
Volunteers will be provided with a free sack lunch. Organizers ask that you bring a mask, work gloves, water bottles, and any of your own rakes, weed eaters and shovels.
Gold Nugget Days Parade returns to ridge in full-force
For the first time since before the Camp Fire, The Gold Nugget Days Parade returned to Paradise in full-force.

PARADISE, Calif. - For the first time since before the Camp Fire, the long-anticipated Gold Nugget Days Parade returned to Paradise in full-force. To find out that we were having a parade again was just a huge light of hope, said Joseph Duncan, from Paradise.
He added, Words can t describe I mean it s just so warm to feel everyone around and enjoying, it s back to when before the fire.
A date has been set for the Gold Nugget Days Parade in Paradise. It is set for Saturday, April 24. Sign-ups are underway on the Gold Nugget Museum website. Organizers said the parade is set to travel its traditional route from Holiday Market on the Skyway, to Paradise Community Park.
The $1.9 trillion American rescue plan is headed back to the House of Representatives for one final vote Tuesday. $1,400 payments are still there targeted to individuals making $80,000 or less and couples earning twice that. The bill also includes money to speed up vaccine distribution.
Jury selection begins in the trial of Derek Chauvin, the former police officer charged with killing George Floyd. Chauvin was seen on cellphone video last may kneeling on Floyd’s neck for more than eight minutes. Chauvin faces charges of second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
