SOUTH BEND â Two people have been charged in a fatal shooting Tuesday night stemming from a car theft.
Prosecutors on Thursday charged Fred Morris, 33, with murder. They also charged Revlon Harrell, 27, with assisting a criminal, a felony, saying she initially lied to investigators about the incident.
Harrell has been arrested, but Morris is currently not in custody. Police ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit at 235-5009, or Crime Stoppers at 288-STOP.
South Bend police responded to the 2000 block of Lincoln Way West at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, after a ShotSpotter activation. At the scene, officers found a tan Buick Century crashed into a yard near the intersection of Lincoln Way West and OâBrien Street. A male driver was slumped over the front seat with an apparent gunshot wound.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A woman shot and killed the man who allegedly stole her vehicle Tuesday evening, according to police reports.
South Bend Police officers were called to the 2000 block of Lincolnway West around 7:20 p.m. Tuesday for shots fired. When they arrived, they found a car crashed into a yard. The man behind the wheel had a gunshot wound and he was rushed to the hospital.
The man, 38-year-old Anthony Craig Logan, later died at the hospital.
Investigators learned that the car involved had been left running, unoccupied, to warm up in front of a house on that block, when someone took it.

MISHAWAKA â A suspect is in custody after fleeing police and crashing an apparently-stolen car into another vehicle near Main and Lawrence streets Sunday evening.
Around 9:45, a Mishawaka officer on patrol saw a vehicle driving near Indian Lake Apartments off of Main Street that closely matched the description of a vehicle wanted in connection to last weekâs double shooting at Central Park in Mishawaka that left one teen dead and another injured.
After running the license plate, the officer discovered the vehicle was reported stolen and tried to make a traffic stop.
The vehicle fled at a âhigh rate of speed,â and the pursuit came to an end near Main and Lawrence streets when the suspectâs vehicle rear-ended an SUV. The driver and a child in the SVU suffered minor injuries.
