SIBU, July 19 An initiative by a doctor from KPJ Sibu Specialist Medical Centre has facilitated the vaccination for up to 15 individuals here, who may otherwise miss out on it due to immobility.
According to Dr Wong Chya Wei, this outreach programme has been going on for about a month.

The report detailed that on Monday, which was the first day of the phase, a total of 924 senior citizens aged 75 and above were innoculated with the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
A total of 140 frontliners also received the vaccines on that day.

It’s only the second day in phase two of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme’s and reports have surfaced of certain areas having to postpone due to a lack of vaccines.
The district of Sibu has experienced shortages in supply of vaccines, although close to 1,000 senior citizens were vaccinated in the first day.
The Star quoted Sibu Division Health Officer Dr Teh Jo Hun who said that vaccinations could not be carried out as they have yet to receive supplies.
