State and federal MPs have joined staff and supporters of an inner-Brisbane bowls club-turned-music venue and community space, calling on the council to scrap plans to bulldoze the site under its latest vision to redevelop the surrounding heritage park.
The former East Brisbane Bowls Club building and greens are located within the state heritage-listed Mowbray Park off Lytton Road but are not recognised as having heritage significance themselves.
The site has been slated for demolition to create what the council describes as new open green space under the park plan.

The alarming figures come as the latest draft for Brisbane s e-mobility strategy would force Lime and Neuron to disclose crash data and could see e-scooters restricted in busy precincts like Fortitude Valley during peak crash times. Data and analysis from the Jamieson Trauma Institute identified late at night and weekends were hot spots for hospital presentations for serious injuries involving e-scooters.
