MOORHEAD Heather Nesemeier will be the new Moorhead City Council member representing Ward Two in the south-central part of the city for the next 20 months.
The 38-year-old was selected on a 4-3 vote over Dave Marquardt, the other finalist out of six candidates. Evan Balko was also nominated.
An office and administrative specialist at Minnesota State University Moorhead, Nesemeier is an incredibly hardworking, incredibly driven individual who cares deeply about her community, said council member Deb White in nominating her for the position.

MOORHEAD The six applicants who are seeking to fill the vacant Ward 2 seat on the Moorhead City Council answered questions and offered ideas for the city at the council s Monday night meeting in the Hjemkomst Center.
The seven current council members will digest answers from the six candidates and debate and vote on who should be appointed at the next meeting on April 26. Councilwoman Shelly Dahlquist also encouraged residents to email or call council members to provide their input, while Mayor Shelly Carlson said written answers the applicants provided earlier were on the city s website for residents
