A man who brutally assaulted his partner, bathed her and left her dying at their home, casually packed a bag to check into a Premier Inn with another woman.
Jonathan Campbell beat his partner, Helen Bannister, into a state of unconsciousness before stripping her down and putting her in a bath to wash away the blood rather than immediately calling 999.

A man has denied murdering a mother-of-two who died in hospital six days after an assault.
Helen Bannister died in December last year following an incident in the Mayhill area of Swansea.
Jonathan James Frazer Campbell entered a plea of not guilty to her murder when he appeared at Swansea Crown Court. A provisional trial date was sent for June 7.
Campbell, aged 37, of Waun Wen Road, Mayhill, Swansea, was further remanded into custody until his next court appearance.
