NORWALK A New York man is accused of trying to steal cooking oil and other equipment from a local restaurant, police said.
Police said a caller contacted police around 7:40 a.m. on Nov. 24 after seeing two men removing equipment from a trailer in the rear parking lot of Valencia Luncheria on Main Street.
The caller tried to approach the men, he told police, but they sped away as he neared them.
Police estimate the men made off with about $700 worth of equipment.
Police were able to trace the van to 26-year-old Jonathan Garces, a resident of Yonkers, N.Y.
