Maryland senator James Rosapepe disagrees with Gov. Larry Hogan “prematurely discontinuing the extra unemployment benefits, telling C4 and Bryan Nehman that those receiving unemployment earned it from working, and “the amount counts.”
“We in the general assembly, we Democrats frankly… we’re trying to raise people’s wages,” Rosapepe said. “We’re trying to protect people’s income. We’re trying to keep people safe. It is unfortunate and rash that Gov. Hogan decided to cut back on incomes for working people in Maryland.”
When asked if he thinks the economy is on the way to being rebuilt, Rosapepe said: “The tough time is over for the people who have jobs and decent wages. The tough times are not over for people who don’t have good jobs and decent wages.”
