 San Pedro resident Christine Bustos was appointed Feb. 12 by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham to be the new District 2 Rio Arriba County commissioner.
   Bustos was appointed to replace Leo Jaramillo who was elected to the state senate last November and was appointed to the senate early after former senator Richard Martinez ended his term early citing COVID-19 related concerns.
   In a Feb. 12 phone interview Bustos said she was honored to receive the position.
   âIâm very honored to be appointed and hope to do my best for the people of Rio Arriba County and especially my district.â
   Bustos said she didnât have a list of objectives yet but was planning on meeting with County leaders as well as with former commissioner Jaramillo to talk about what initiatives he started, so she can identify her priorities.
The second season of Love, Victor will be “spicy”, according to the stars of the beloved teen drama.
Ahead of the series’ debut on Disney+ later this month, we spoke with Michael Cimino (Victor Salazar) and George Sear (Benji Campbell) about what we can expect from its follow-up.
“There’s a lot more evolution with their characters,” Sear tells GAY TIMES over Zoom, before an excited Cimino chimes in and describes the new episodes as “spicy”.
“I like the word ‘spicy’. It’s a little more spicier. I think that’s a very accurate word to describe it. It definitely expands upon everyone’s relationships,” he tells GAY TIMES, before confirming it “picks up right where the first season stopped”.

Fresno State’s Associated Students Inc. (ASI) pushed back the petition date for the 2021-2022 ASI elections to Feb. 19.
The voting results were 10 in favor, two opposed and six abstained.
The 2021 ASI election petitions were adjusted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This allows candidates to submit petitions to run for office without the need to obtain nominating signatures.
According to ASI policies, 25 signatures are typically required in order to run for a senator position, and 50 signatures are required to run for an executive office.

Sarah Silverman called on her fellow celebrities to intervene as the allegedly anti-LGBT+ Adventure Church makes plans to move into a historic queer-friendly Los Angeles theatre.
The stand-up comedian joined the growing protest on Monday (8 February) after it was announced that the popular Tower Theatre could soon be the new home of the conservative Adventure Church.
“So an anti-LGBT church called Adventure Church is trying to buy the Tower Theatre in the most LGBT+ friendly area of Fresno (the arts district, obvs),” Sarah Silverman wrote on Twitter.
