We have been wanting to open it for quite a long time, he said. Our focus has always been on the Hippodrome but lockdown has given us more time to look at other projects. We feel there is a gap in the market and a chance to help some smaller operators that have been doing some great things during lockdown. We are looking forward to it, but very apprehensive. Where are there roman ruins and temples in Norfolk?

Caistor St Edmund, south of Norwich, is one of just three regional Roman centres in Britain which have not been built over. Called Venta Icenorum by the Romans it had a forum, temples, baths, an amphitheatre, running water and defensive walls and ramparts. Suburbs, including a big temple complex, grew up outside the enclosed town.   Lime-rich Roman walls which survive at Venta Icenorum at Caistor St Edmund near Norwich have been designated nature reserves. - Credit: Eastern Counties Newspapers Roman temples Temples once stood where sheep now graze at Caistor St Edmund, and have been identified in Norfolk communities including Hockwold, Snettisham and Thetford.

TxDOT reminding Texans to put phones down while driving

TxDOT reminding Texans to put phones down while driving By FOX 7 Austin Digital Team Published  AUSTIN, Texas - The Texas Department of Transportation is reminding all Texans to put their phones down while they re behind the wheel as part of National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. TxDOT says that distracted driving is the second leading cause of traffic crashes in Texas. In 2020, Texas roadways saw nearly 1 in 5 crashes caused by a distracted driver in which 364 people died and 2,200 were seriously injured.  A serious or fatal crash can happen in an instant, said TxDOT executive director James Bass in a release. If you’re distracted by your phone, or doing anything else that takes your focus away from driving, you’re putting yourself, your passengers and everyone else on the road at risk. Distracted driving crashes are 100 percent preventable. Driving should be your number one priority behind the wheel – everything else can wait.
