“This donation is brilliant because it means that we don’t have to scrape the barrel to feed people and we can give them more than they need which is a really nice feeling.”
As well as the food donations, staff at Lowestoft Sixth Form College also raised £350 which will be donated to the Lowestoft Foodbank to provide a further festive boost.

The new Safeway store at Niumalu Marketplace, off Henry Street and next to Lanihau Center, opens this morning at 8 a.m.
The 63,000-square foot Safeway is the only tenant in the shopping center, so far. Construction started just over 2 years ago and there are spaces for more than 20 other tenants. No other tenants have been announced yet.
On Wednesday afternoon, Kumu Keala Ching presided over the blessing and grand opening of the store. Employees have been working to get the store set up for the last two months, installing shelving and fixtures and stocking the shelves with food.
