MT. STERLING, Ky. (Mt. Sterling Advocate) â A man wanted in connection to an alleged attempted murder of a Mt. Sterling police officer has been caught, according to the Mt. Sterling Advocate.
James Bussell, 46, of Owingsville, was found hiding at a mobile home on Kiddville Road where he had reportedly been staying with an acquaintance on Wednesday, according to Sheriff David Charles. Sheriff Charles added that authorities from several agencies participated in the operation to apprehend Bussell, who allegedly barricaded himself inside the home and failed to respond to repeated attempts to turn himself in.

A male suspect sped away from a Mount Sterling Police Officer after he had been stopped for a traffic violation. James Bussell, 45 years of age from Owingsville, KY, the operator of the vehicle made a U-turn and attempted to run over the officer. The officer then discharged his duty weapon toward Bussell, who was not struck. Bussell made another U-turn and tried to run the officer over again. After the second attempt, the vehicle became stuck and Bussell fled on foot in an unknown direction.
